FAABulous Football Week 10: How Are We This Close to the End?!
Welcome to Week 10
Alright friends this has been a busy week between the election and NFL trade deadline. Don’t worry, this is a political free zone, however I am going to keep the introduction short and sweet this week.
When I say we are nearing the end it is mostly in reference to FFPC high stakes, as they have a very short 12 week regular season because of the unique format which includes a league tournament before the playoff sprint.
Therefore it is really crunch time here and all teams need to score big to secure one of the top four seeds for any chance to get into the sprint.
I will start to talk a bit more strategy here next week, but for now make sure you have players available to cover your bye weeks especially at the onesie positions.
I didn’t include any quarterbacks in high stakes this week, but if you want to see my favorite streamers and stashes scroll down to the home leagues section and that will give you my thoughts.
This week we have four teams on bye with the Browns, Packers, Raiders, and Seahawks, now it’s time to get going and dive into Week 10.
All stats and data for this article are pulled from Fantasy Life, PFF, ETR, and Stealing Signals.
A Look Back at Week 9
Week 9 Waiver Wire Wins
When I say “wins” it is in reference to the player(s) won on the waiver wire, not a performance evaluation. Because I am releasing this article after the conclusion of Week 9, many things, in hindsight, may not be a win after all. I include this section not for bragging rights or victory laps but rather to keep myself accountable and demonstrate that I am, in fact bidding on many of the players I am writing about (for better and worse).
Several of the top waiver options were not available or right for teams’ roster needs. I included these players I did not win any shares of as well ones along with the winning bid range I saw these players go for in other leagues.

Week 9 Ship Chasing Team Standings
FFPC Main Event Teams
Live A Little (4-5) 8th Place 1242.35 pts
I have to be honest, heading into this week my expectations for the future of the mini episodes team were not particularly high, even after last week’s victory. The Sunday performances were a mixed bag; JSN, Rico Dowdle, and Rams defense all exceeded expectations while Brian Thomas, Jalen Waddle, Breece Hall and Jake Elliot fell woefully short. The team was heading into Monday night’s game 54.05 points behind with Mahomes, Kelce, and Kareem Hunt left and not only reigned victorious but finished with a massive 184.45 point week, now positioning itself to have a real shot these next couple of weeks to compete for league championship, we will fight to the end.
Top 2 Win It Win It (3-6) 10th Place 1175 pts
This team started four rookies and all but one failed miserably… Can someone explain how Xavier Worthy could not get two feet down in bounds without a defender in sight?!! Brock Bowers the lone glimmer of hope, now the Raiders fired their OC Luke Getsy to bring in a young and fresh innovative mind to their organization, one who surely will center their offense around their elite first round talent… wait Norv Turner is still alive?!
We Just Don’t Know (5-4) 5th Place 1216.55 pts
The Stat Chasing boys are making a late season rally here folks with their second consecutive win they are very close to securing a spot to fight to get into the sprint. Devon Achane and Zay Flowers were massive performers this week, now we need to find some help with the RB2 position and make it through bye weeks.
Tree Branches (6-3) 5th Place 1258 pts
Another big win and team that is close to securing a seed. The secret of this teams success is one that is unique in the Ship Chasing stratosphere, it rosters Derrick Henry. There is a bit of uncertainty now for however as Chase Brown will now be joined by Khalil Herbert, Brock Bowers gets a new OC, and Rico Dowdle loses Dak Prescott, let’s hope some of these things work out for the best.
Hear Ye Hear Ye (3-6) 11th Place 1159.60 pts
The Shawn Siegele team has now secured its second win in a row as well but it needs a massive next few weeks to have a shot. The biggest struggles here are finding a reliable RB2 option, making the right decisions on many of these boom/bust wide receivers, and navigating some of the upcoming bye weeks.
@CrakRok (7-2) 3rd Place 1279.75 pts
Alright another win, we are officially on a heater, just like Peter Overzett on Underdog (huge congratulations again). We picked up and started Mike Gesicki from waivers in this one, who had a massive week, along with a nice Hurts/DeVonta stack, and even served the Puka Nacua ejection… LFG!!
Dairy Queen (4-5) 10th Place 1151.75 pts
I wish I had better news for my own team, I need a big week to have a reasonable shot at the 3rd or fourth seed. Early on things felt pretty good, Hunter Henry and Rico Dowdle were two big decisions I felt good about, the Raven defense was solid. I was a little behind, but still had a lot of players who could make some noise… Kyren Williams, Sam LaPorta, Jake Elliot and of course the stud himself Puka Nacua. Spoiler alert none of them made noise unless you call me cussing very loudly at the refs ejecting Puka Nacua over a weak ass punch noise. Ugh I could not be more upset again than I am at this very moment… WTF do you mean the Cowboys gave up a 4th round pick for Jonathan Mingo, FML!
Cavish (3-6) 4th Place 1263.40 pts
The other live Vegas team also suffered a disappointing loss in Week 9, however they are still in a great position to make a playoff push. Like many teams the key will be finding a running back after losing Zack Moss and Tyjae Spears, but there are some strong wide receivers and tight ends that can hold things together in the meantime.
FFPC $5,000 Big Payback Teams
Leone HS1 (2-7) 12th Place 1012.35 pts
We hit on the Ray Davis and Rico Dowdle weeks, but fell on the Xavier Worth, Kyle Pitts, and Puka Nacua grenades and ultimately had this week blow up in our faces. I may be optimistic but I am also a realist, and I told you last week this one has been real, onto the next battle.
Leone HS2 (5-4) 9th Place 1212.80 pts
This is the next battle and it lost a close one, two more points from Bucky Irving would have done it. While this team still has a ways to go and needs points, there is a chance it can get those points by getting back Nico Collins and DK Metcalf… I’m still gonna leave a light on and pray for a sun run miracle.
Week 10 Waiver Priorities for FFPC
Below are all the players I like for Week 10 for FFPC leagues. I break down all players into tiers with FAAB suggestions, followed by analysis and a list of players to consider dropping.
This article is also intended to provide value for those of you who play in deeper league formats and dynasty leagues.
Please note with a drop list, you do not have to drop these players and all suggestions are general as it is impossible to cover all nuances of individual leagues.
